By the Wilde Florist review team · Last updated 2026

Choosing between online casinos is hard when every site shouts about a five-figure bonus. The only fair way to decide is to line them up against each other on the same criteria. This page does exactly that: a complete, side-by-side comparison of all 15 casinos on our New Zealand shortlist, scored on the identical framework we use across The Wilde Florist. Use the table to compare welcome offers, free spins, minimum deposits and our overall Kiwi rating at a glance, then dig into the analysis below to understand what the numbers really mean for a player in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

All 15 online casinos compared, side by side

The shortlist below is ranked from our highest-rated New Zealand casino to the lowest of the 15 we currently recommend watching. Scroll the table sideways on mobile, or tap a card to read each offer. Bonuses are shown in NZD where the operator quotes NZD; figures in other currencies are reproduced exactly as advertised. Welcome amounts are maximums across multiple deposits and are subject to wagering requirements.

How to read this comparison

Every casino is scored out of five on bonus value, payout speed, NZD & Kiwi-friendly payments, game range and safety. Where an operator hasn’t published a figure, we show “—” rather than guess. The rank-1 site is marked as our Top Pick, but the best choice depends on what matters most to you.

⚠ Read the terms before you deposit

Headline welcome figures are maximums spread across several deposits and carry wagering requirements that vary widely between operators. Where a casino has not published a minimum deposit, free-spin count or wagering figure we show “—” rather than estimate. Always confirm the current offer on the operator’s own terms page, and try our bonus calculator to see what a bonus is really worth.

What the comparison columns actually measure

A side-by-side table is only useful if you understand each column, so here is exactly how we judge each casino in this comparison.

Welcome bonus and free spins

The bonus column reproduces the operator’s advertised welcome offer verbatim. Some are quoted in NZD, others in mixed currencies — we have not converted them, because exchange rates and the operator’s own currency handling can change the real figure. The free-spins column counts the spins bundled into that welcome package. Bigger is not automatically better: N1Bet’s headline $10,000 and Rolling Slots’ NZ$7,000 are eye-catching, but they are matched over multiple deposits and only pay off if you intend to deposit heavily. For most Kiwi players, a more modest, lower-wagering offer such as Jackpot City’s NZ$1,600 with a NZ$10 minimum deposit is easier to clear and better value in practice.

Payout speed and NZD payments

How fast you get paid — and whether you can deposit and withdraw in New Zealand dollars without hefty conversion fees — is where the ranking is really earned. Across the shortlist, supported Kiwi-friendly methods typically include Visa and Mastercard, bank transfer, Account2Account (the local replacement for POLi, which closed in 2023), paysafecard, Neosurf vouchers, NZD e-wallets and Bitcoin. Crypto withdrawals are usually the quickest. If fast cash-outs are your priority, cross-reference this table with our fast-payout casinos guide. For more on each rail, see our payments hub.

Game range and software

The casinos near the top of this list pair large pokie libraries with a strong live-dealer floor and quality providers. If your focus is reels, our pokies and providers pages break down RTP and studios; for dealer-led tables, see live casino. You can also compare theoretical return across sites with our RTP comparison tool.

Safety and licensing

Trust is the foundation of every score. We check licensing, ownership transparency, fairness testing, complaint history and responsible-gambling tools. Casinos that fall short are flagged in our casinos to avoid list and excluded here. Safety-first players should also read our safe casinos guide.

NZ-licensed versus offshore: what changes in 2026

Every casino in this comparison currently operates offshore. It is not illegal for a New Zealander to play at an offshore site, but until now there has been no domestic licensing regime, meaning your protection depends entirely on the operator’s overseas licence. That is changing. Under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, the Department of Internal Affairs will run a licence auction in September 2026, with the first DIA-regulated online casinos going live on 1 December 2026.

The DIA will issue up to 15 licences, and licensed operators will face local obligations on player protection, advertising and harm minimisation. As licences are awarded we will mark which of the casinos in this table hold one, so you can compare NZ-licensed and offshore sites side by side. For the detail, see our DIA licensing guide and our overview of NZ-licensed casinos. Note that GST and gambling-duty arrangements for licensed operators are part of the new regime; how winnings are treated for players is covered in our gambling tax in NZ explainer.

How to use this comparison to pick your casino

Don’t just take the rank-1 site by default. Decide what matters most to you, then shortlist two or three casinos and compare them closely:

Lean toward the top of the table if you want

  • The strongest all-round score across bonus, payout, payments, games and safety
  • A site we have verified from a New Zealand connection in NZD
  • Established brands with longer track records, such as Jackpot City and Spin Casino

Look further down if you prioritise

  • A specific headline bonus size or free-spin count
  • A niche payment method or crypto-first cashier
  • A newer brand — cross-check our new casinos list first

Whatever you choose, set a deposit limit before you play and treat the bonus as entertainment value, not income. If you’re ready to deposit, our real-money casinos guide walks through the sign-up and verification steps, and the bonuses hub tracks the latest offers including no-deposit deals.

Frequently asked questions

How do you compare online casinos for New Zealand players?

We score every casino on the same five-point framework: bonus value and fairness of wagering terms, payout speed, the range of NZD and Kiwi-friendly payment methods, game variety, and player safety. Each site is checked from a New Zealand IP, with real NZD deposits where possible, so the side-by-side table reflects the actual Kiwi experience rather than a generic global one. Our full method is on the how we rate page.

Are these online casinos legal in New Zealand?

Until the new Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 takes effect, every offshore casino in this comparison operates outside any domestic licence. It is not illegal for a New Zealander to play at an offshore site, but the operator is not yet DIA-regulated. From the licence auction in September 2026 and go-live on 1 December 2026, the Department of Internal Affairs will issue up to 15 New Zealand licences, and we will flag which compared casinos hold one. See our NZ gambling laws guide for more.

Which payment methods can Kiwis use at these casinos?

Most compared casinos accept NZD via Visa and Mastercard, bank transfer, Account2Account (the local replacement for POLi, which closed in 2023), paysafecard, Neosurf vouchers, NZD e-wallets and Bitcoin. Crypto deposits are usually the fastest to withdraw. We note the supported methods in our individual reviews and in the payments hub.

What does the rank-1 “Top Pick” mean in the comparison table?

The Top Pick is the casino with the strongest overall score across our five rating pillars at the time of the last update, not simply the biggest advertised bonus. It is highlighted at the top of the table, but the right casino for you depends on your priorities, so we recommend reading the column notes and comparing two or three shortlisted sites.

Do bigger welcome bonuses mean a better casino?

No. A headline figure like NZ$10,000 is a maximum match across several deposits and usually carries high wagering requirements. A smaller, low-wagering or no-wagering bonus can be far better value — see our no-wagering bonuses page. Always read the terms, and use our bonus calculator to work out the real cost before you deposit.

How often is this casino comparison updated?

We review the shortlist regularly and re-check bonuses, payout times and payment options at least monthly, with extra updates around the 2026 DIA licensing milestones. The “Last updated” date near the top of the page shows the most recent check.
